Since the summer of 2002, Dubuque has been the home of The Shoe Shack. It all began out of the need for a shoe store that actually took the time to fit shoes to the customers needs and wants. We take great pride in providing those services to every person who enters our store. Every employee goes through a teaching process to learn about properly fitting shoes based on the customer, and how they will use their shoes. Walking, jogging, running or fitness routines. A New Chapter: Meet Our Owners
We are proud to announce that the legacy of The Bike Shack is continuing under the leadership of Pam Schmitt-Lewey and Dan Schmitt.
- Pam Schmitt-Lewey: Pam has been a part of the shop literally every step of the way. The daughter of founders Rick and Kathy Schmitt, she started working at just 12 years old and has managed operations for decades. Her lifelong commitment ensures that the family values and customer-first approach remain at our core.
- Dan Schmitt: A long-time technician at the shop and nephew to the original founders, Dan brings deep mechanical expertise and a passion for the cycling community to his role as co-owner.
Together, Pam and Dan are dedicated to preserving the "calling card" of exceptional customer service that has defined us since 1979.
